PRESIDENT
Alexis Rose
(she/her)
Alexis first joined Centre Stage in 2011, and has performed in fourteen Centre Stage shows - favourite roles include Roz in 9 to 5, Patty in Grease and Nellie in Jekyll & Hyde. She also produced Centre Stage Unplugged and Fame. She joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 and spent a year as membership manager, three years as business manager and four years as Chair. A strategy consultant by training, she has over 20 years of experience in consulting and business operations and is currently the Chief Operating Officer of a tech start-up, as well as an ICF qualified coach.

Zsolti Szabo
(he/him)
Zsolti has found a lot of joy through Centre Stage since he joined in 2018. First he took on a committee role as Marketing Manager and later decided to step on stage and was fortunate to join the cast of Godspell in 2021, as well as CATS and Cinderella Enchanted this past season. It is a full circle moment that he now has the opportunity to give back to this community and bring his arts management experiences from the world of dance, film and circus to help make great theatre that's accessible and nurturing for everyone. When he is not rehearsing for a show, Zsolti is managing a dance studio in central London.

GRACE JENKINS

Grace first got involved in the London amdram scene back in 2017, when she volunteered backstage for Centre Stage’s production of Fame. Since then she has been on the committee as box office manager and performed on stage in Love Happens Here and Proms. When not on or backstage, Grace works by day as a finance assistant for a London theatre company and is excited to bring this experience to the Centre Stage committee in 2023.

Miriam jaffe
(she/her)
Miriam joined Centre Stage at the end of 2022 after being cast in Cinderella Enchanted Edition, and found a lovely community both on and offstage. When she’s not onstage, Miriam works in higher education, but you can also find her baking or trying to come up with the worst (although she'd argue best) puns. Miriam is excited to join the committee as secretary, and to spend more time with Centre Stage.

basil zafiropoulos

Basil first joined Centre Stage in 2017. He has performed in several shows since then including Proms, Jekyll and Hyde and most recently as the King in Centre Stage's production of Cinderella Enchanted. A chartered accountant by profession and working as a CFO by day Basil is joining the Board of Trustees as Business Manager and looks forward to lending his experience and giving back to the Centre Stage family.

Sonja Lindemann

Having enjoyed several Centre Stage productions as an audience member, Sarolta was very excited when the opportunity came up to join the committee as Box Office Manager. She brings substantial office and events experience to the team and a lifelong love of performing arts, especially music. When not dealing with ticketing and audience enquiries, she works part-time at a local charity, helps raise funds for her son’s school and sings in a choir.

Giusy Pappalardo

Giusy first joined Centre Stage as a performer for their production of Godspell and subsequently directed Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Bridewell Theatre, consolidating her affection and support to the society. She is delighted to join the committee as Education and Diversity Officer for her second mandate.
Active Body Positivity advocate, Freelance Theatre professional, and Published Mixed Race Model, Giusy looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm and experience on and off stage with Centre Stage and its members.

Tal’s first Centre Stage show - Ragtime in 2016 - was an incredible experience for both her and her husband Stephen (the other half of team Hewitt!). As for so many people, this first Centre Stage show was a jumping off point into the vast and exciting world of London theatre. Stephen and Tal have since helmed two shows for Centre Stage - Godspell and Huge Stick Of Musical Rock - and supported many more. Tal directs, choreographs, produces, crews and performs so she is able to support the society and its creative teams on most levels. She is hugely passionate about what makes a great show for audiences and a brilliant experience for all those who take part. She is delighted support the Centre Stage membership in the role of Artistic Director.

Pablo Colella is an arts marketing consultant with a passion for innovative people and grassroots projects. He is thrilled to have been invited to be Marketing Manager. He hopes to bring his experience to Centre Stage to help spread the word about the exciting, passion-driven shows coming up in 2023.

EVENTS OFFICER
Deborah Stanton
(she/her)
By day, Deborah is a Property Finder and by night a Ballroom and Latin dancer.
She has been dancing all her life but focusing on Ballroom and Latin for the past 10 years.
Deborah joined Centre Stage in 2022 to be assistant choreographer and assistant director for last November’s Cinderella Enchanted at the Bridewell Theatre and is now very pleased to be part of the Committee, using her skills and creativity for the planning of future events.

Gia Benjamin
(she/her)
Gia joined Centre Stage in 2021. Driven by a long time personal love for theatre, she decided to seize the opportunity and take part in her first audition for the group’s production of CATS. She has since performed in Cinderella Enchanted and is in the choir for The Hunchback of Notre Dame. This is Gia's second year on the Centre Stage Committee and she is the whiz behind all of our social media!
