The Board of Trustees are are elected at the annual AGM and are responsible for the smooth running of the society. PRESIDENT
Cortina Henderson
(she/her)
Cortina became Centre Stage's first ever President in 2007 after 16 years with the group, including many as Chairwoman. Cortina's role involves ensuring the membership and charity is run fairly and in accordance with the constitution, to sit on audition panels to ensure fairness and inclusion, and to also support the Chair in representing the Charity. Cortina thanks all the many casts, crews, production teams and audiences for their unending support over the years.

Alexis Rose
(she/her)
Alexis first joined Centre Stage in 2011, has performed in fourteen Centre Stage shows and produced two. She joined the Board of Trustees in 2013 as membership manager, spent three years as business manager and is delighted to be in her third year as Chair. Her role involves being the primary spokesperson for the society and to ensure the charity’s brand values and members are kept at the forefront of decision making, whilst maintaining leadership of the Charity.

Nick Dore

Nick joined Centre Stage in 2015 with Rent. As treasurer Nick oversees financial management, budgeting and reporting for the charity. Nick works as an accountant for Playful Productions and is delighted to be using his professional knowledge of theatrical accounting with Centre Stage.

Charlie Smith
(he/him)
Charlie joined Centre Stage in 2018 for our production of Love Happens Here: An LGBTQI Cabaret and went onto play ‘Danny Zuko’ in our production of Grease the Musical. Charlie also regularly performs with other London groups, including SEDOS, GEOIDS and Mayhem. After spending the past year as Membership Officer, Charlie is thrilled to be staying on the Board of Trustees as Secretary.

MEMBERSHIP & EVENTS MANAGER
Peter Stonnell
(he/him)
Peter joined Centre Stage in 2016 performing in 9 to 5: The Musical and then Fame: The Musical in 2017.
After a short break Peter has returned to Centre Stage this year performing in Centre Stage Proms and will be producing the European Premiere of Zanna, Don’t! A Rebooted Quantum Football Fable in 2020.
He is excited to be joining the Board of Trustees as Membership and Events Manager and being the first point of call for new and existing members.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Stuart James
(he/him)
Stuart is a queer identifying actor, director and reviewer working predominantly in musical theatre with a passion for authentic story-telling, reimagined classics and queer representation within theatre.
Stuart joined the Centre Stage committee in 2016 as the Social Media Marketing Office, before directing Fame: The Musical. In 2018 Stuart became our Artistic Director, conceived and directed Love Happens Here: An LGBTQI+ Cabaret and directed Grease The Musical. Before the pandemic Stuart was due to direct the European Premiere of Zanna, Don’t! A Rebooted Quantum Football Fable in July of 2020 and is looking to produce this show with Centre Stage in the future.

BUSINESS MANAGER
Will Hunkin
(he/him)
Will joined Centre Stage in 2018 and has appeared in many shows including playing ‘Doody’ in Grease The Musical. Most recently he got his ‘Quasimodo’ on for his solo ‘Out There’ from The Hunchback Of Notre Dame in Centre Stage Proms and is delighted to be joining the Centre Stage committee as our new Business Manager. When not performing in shows, Will works in forensic analytics at Deloitte.

EDUCATION & DIVERSITY OFFICER
James-Lee Campbell
(they/them/he)
James-Lee has been in the musical theatre industry since the dainty age of 12, ascertaining his first professional role as Gavroche in Les Miserable. Later on in life he has played roles from Florian in Princess Ida to King Herod in National Tours of Jesus Christ Superstar. James-Lee’s first involvement with Centre Stage was as Choreographer for ‘Christmas Cake’ and he is very proud to be staying on the committee in a new role focusing on education & diversity.

Hannah McKenna-Vickerstaff

Hannah runs a successful Dance and Theatre School which she established in South West London in 2016, recent achievements include helping several pupils make their professional debut in shows such as Nativity and School of Rock and coaching students into top full time dance and drama schools. For Centre Stage Hannah has thoroughly enjoyed choreographing our productions of Lysistrata in 2017 and Jekyll & Hyde The Musical this year. Hannah is excited to bring her entrepreneurial spirit to the Centre Stage committee as Events Officer.

François Vanhoutte

François joined Centre Stage in 2018 for our production of Grease The Musical. He loved it so much that he wanted to return. He was lucky enough to be in the cast of Jekyll & Hyde The Musical and then Centre Stage Proms in the same season. François is really happy to be joining the Board of Trustees as Box Office Manager and giving his free time to Centre Stage.

MARKETING MANAGER
Zsolti Szabó
(he/him)
In his second year of being a Trustee, Zsolti is excited to bring his experiences from the performing arts world to Centre Stage. His background includes 18 years of dance training & performance, 8 years as Marketing Manager at London's premier dance studio Danceworks and working with a wide range of clients from artistic individuals to corporate organisations. Currently he is running his own film production company as well as being General Manager at contemporary circus company Acrojou.

Lauren Clarke

Lauren joined Centre Stage in 2018, making her debut in the ultimate boys vs girls showdown - 'Mic Drop'. A journalist by day, Lauren is delighted to be giving back to the society and finding a more productive outlet for all the hours she spends on social media. Her role involves working with the marketing team to push Centre Stage's online presence - encouraging as many people as possible to come see its fabulous productions.
MARKETING OFFICER
Will Garrood
(he/him)
Will took part in his first Centre Stage production this year with Centre Stage Proms and is now very excited to be joining the board of trustees. Will has enjoyed treading the boards in multiple amateur theatre productions in London and back home in Suffolk since 2013. Will has an extensive background in digital video production and digital video marketing, with over 5 years experience as a video editor, photographer and camera operator.
